In order to generate queries for designing dashboards in Visualr, you need to create a data model from the data your you have uploaded or linked through an appropriate Data Providers. As a user, you have the option to formulate query either on the basis of one or more data tables and choose selective or entire fields of your choice selected from any data table. For the Query Builder to run properly, there needs to exist at least one set of data saved data provider through any Data Provider. The procedure for adding new query through From Query is as follows:

First, you need to enter the name of the new query in the ‘Name’ text field within the ‘QUERY DETAIL’ dialog box.

Upon doing so, you have to select the appropriate values in the ‘Data provider’ and ‘Data Source’ drop-down boxes. Don’t forget to select the ‘From Query’ checkbox, as you are going to create the new query through this mode.

The ‘ADD NEW QUERY’ dialog box gets expanded now, and the screen gets divided into two panes. On the left is the ‘Tables & Views’ pane and on the right is the ‘SQL Editor’ pane as in this sample case you are creating a query using a SQL database.

Upon clicking upon the ‘View Data’ button in the ‘Tables & Views’ pane, you are able to get a general preview of your database in the form of a table, as follows:
