MS Access Data Provider

If you are using MS Access database with Visular for creating your dashboards, first of all you need to connect to database into the solution through your database file, so that queries may be built with the help of it. In order to connect a new MS Access database into the Visular, first of all the database must be located on server or your local disc in case you are using the desktop version of the application. Visualr will facilitate you to browse through the directory and choose you the required database file. The procedure for adding a new MS Access database into the Visular data repository is as follows:

  • Enter the database filename in the ‘Name’ text field.
  • Click upon the folder icon, browse the local storage for the database file and select it by clicking upon the ‘Select file’ button. Upon clicking the browse button, you will find the following pop-up displayed on screen:

  • In case it is a password protected file, you will have to click the ‘File Protected’ checkbox and enter the password in order to connect to the database. Please not that the password is case-sensitive.
  • Click upon the ‘Test Connection’ button to verify if the database file has been successfully connected. If the database file is password protected and you attempt to click upon the ‘Test Connection’ button without entering the required password or entering a wrong password, you will get an error message.
